Vail ("we", "our", or "us") is a voice-first dating app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using Vail, you agree to the practices described here.
We collect the following types of information when you use Vail:
Vail requires access to your device's microphone to record voice clips for your profile and to send voice messages to your matches. Microphone access is only active while you are actively recording inside the app. We never record audio in the background. Voice recordings are stored securely on our servers and are only accessible to users you are matched with.
Vail requests access to your photo library solely to allow you to select a profile picture. We do not access, scan, or store any photos other than the one you explicitly choose to upload.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share data only in the following cases:
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the app, which permanently removes all your profile data, voice recordings, and match history.
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Voice recordings and photos are stored in access-controlled cloud storage. We apply industry-standard security measures to protect your information.
Vail is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will promptly delete their account and data.
